Earlier flight क्यों महत्वपूर्ण है
Passenger को समय से पहले airport पहुंचना पड़ता है और planned journey बिगड़ती है। EU Court ने significant earlier departure को cancellation माना है, क्योंकि passenger समय का स्वतंत्र उपयोग खोता है। एक घंटे से अधिक वाली threshold relevant European authority है।
Virgin UK carrier है, पर Brexit के बाद UK261 और EU261 अलग statutes हैं। Pre-exit case law तथा UK interpretation relevant हो सकते हैं; claim में “हर 61-minute change automatic £520” जैसी absolute बात न लिखें। Route, notice और offered alternative भी दिखाएं।
14-day notice test
Cancellation treatment बने तो airline ने passenger को कब बताया यह तय करें। 14 दिन से अधिक prior notice पर fixed compensation सामान्यतः नहीं, हालांकि refund या rerouting rights हो सकते हैं। 7–14 दिन में alternative अधिकतम दो घंटे earlier निकले और चार घंटे से कम late पहुंचे तो exemption हो सकती है। सात दिन से कम में limits अधिक strict हैं।

Later schedule change
Flight कई घंटे later कर दी गई, लेकिन date से पहले notice मिला, तो इसे delay, cancellation या contract change कैसे treat करना है facts पर निर्भर है। Original service same number से operate हुई या passenger दूसरी flight पर moved हुआ, यह देखें।
Travel date पर final arrival delay तीन या चार घंटे पार करे तो delay compensation अलग बन सकता है। Advance notice स्वयं travel-day operational delay को हमेशा खत्म नहीं करता, पर passenger ने revised schedule contractually स्वीकार किया या नहीं, यह disputed हो सकता है।
Refund, rerouting या acceptance

Airport change और connection
