TUI compensation claim form and evidence

Published: 10 September 2026

A TUI claim form succeeds or fails on the facts entered before any attachments are uploaded. The essential opening is a compact route statement: departure, destination, date, flight number, actual operating carrier and final arrival delay or cancellation notice. TUI's UK form says it processes TUI Airways customers; passengers who flew with another carrier should claim from that operator.

Check your case in the form

Enter your route, date and type of disruption. We will check whether your case qualifies for a claim under EU 261/2004 or UK261.

Step 1 of 813% completed

What happened to your flight?

Claim up to €600 for a delayed or cancelled flight.

Choose the situation that applies to your flight:

The legal references here are current on 9 September 2026. EU reforms adopted in July 2026 have deferred application. Do not insert their future nine-month claim period as though it already limits EU261 claims.

Confirm who should receive the form

TUI Airways is the British airline in the group. TUI fly Germany, TUI fly Belgium, TUI fly Netherlands and TUI fly Nordic are EU airlines. A package sold on a TUI website may also contain a third-party carrier. Check “operated by” on the ticket and boarding pass.

Direction matters before compensation is requested. UK and EU departures are covered under their respective regimes. A return beginning outside those territories normally needs a UK or EU operating carrier to engage the matching regime. The passenger's residence and the package seller do not repair a failed territorial test.

If TUI organised the holiday but another airline flew the aircraft, send the statutory flight claim to the airline. A separate package complaint can go to the organiser where its holiday obligations were not performed.

Complete the TUI claim in seven steps

  1. Save the original journey record. Download the first confirmation before later schedules replace it; retain the booking reference, ticket and all coupons.
  2. Identify the operating airline. Copy the “operated by” wording, not merely the TUI brand or marketing flight code.
  3. Write the disruption timeline. Give notice time, scheduled departure and arrival, replacement flight, and actual door-opening time at the final destination, with time zones.
  4. State the legal request. Separate fixed UK261 or EU261 compensation from reimbursement or rerouting, care expenses, package rights and baggage damage.
  5. Calculate each line. List the fixed amount per eligible passenger and each shared receipt once at its actual cost.
  6. Upload labelled evidence. Number documents and explain in one line what each proves; obscure unrelated sensitive data where appropriate.
  7. Keep proof of submission. Save the completed text, attachment list, confirmation screen, date and case reference.

Use the current official channel and enter banking details only in its secure fields. Never send multiple inconsistent versions because the first submission appeared slow.

Build an evidence file that answers the tests

For delay, preserve the original scheduled arrival and evidence of when passengers could leave the aircraft at the final destination. For cancellation, keep the exact timestamp of notice and all rerouting alternatives. For denied boarding, record that the passenger presented on time with valid documents and did not volunteer.

Cause evidence may include the airline message, airport announcements, weather information and the previous rotation, but avoid speculation. Ask the operator to name the event, connect it to this flight and explain reasonable measures.

Receipts should be itemised and readable. Write “meal during six-hour wait for two passengers” rather than uploading an unexplained card slip. A PIR and baggage tag belong in a Montreal baggage file, not as proof of fixed delay compensation.

Show the calculation without double counting

EU261 fixed bands are EUR 250, 400 and 600; UK261 bands are GBP 220, 350 and 520. Distance and route select the band after coverage is established. Certain timely rerouted arrivals can permit a 50% reduction.

Refund or rerouting is not part of that fixed sum. Care costs reimburse reasonable meals, accommodation and transfers. Package claims concern organiser obligations. Montreal damages compensate proven baggage loss subject to their own requirements. Label each subtotal and identify its recipient.

Worked example: Hannah and Lee fly TUI Airways from Antalya to Birmingham and arrive 4 hours 25 minutes late. Their form states the inbound direction and UK operator first, requests the appropriate UK261 amount for each passenger, and lists one GBP 54 meal receipt separately. They do not demand the whole package price or call the delayed suitcase an extra UK261 award.

Follow up on the issue actually disputed

Allow the operator a reasonable opportunity to answer and retain every response. If TUI asks for a boarding pass or bank detail, provide it securely under the same reference. If it rejects for extraordinary circumstances, ask for the specific event and reasonable measures rather than restarting the narrative.

TUI's contact guidance points unresolved TUI Airways airline claims to AviationADR. Claims involving an EU TUI operator use that airline's process and the authority or dispute body relevant to the route. Escalation should include the original complaint, acknowledgement, final response and a short explanation of the remaining disagreement.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use TUI's UK form for a TUI fly Belgium flight?

TUI says its UK delay form processes TUI Airways customers and directs passengers on another carrier to that carrier. Use the operator's appropriate channel.

What if I no longer have a boarding pass?

Submit alternative proof such as the e-ticket, check-in confirmation, baggage tag and booking record, and explain clearly what is missing.

Should every family member submit a separate form?

Follow the form's current instructions. In any combined claim, identify every passenger and entitlement while claiming shared expenses only once.

Can I claim care costs on the compensation form?

Yes where the channel permits, but place them in a separate itemised section with receipts so they are not confused with fixed compensation.

Should I cite the future nine-month EU rule?

No. As at 9 September 2026 that reform has deferred application and is not the current limitation rule.
