easyJet compensation claim form: what to enter and attach
Reviewed on 10 August 2026. easyJet provides an online EC261 compensation portal for delayed, cancelled and denied-boarding flights. Complete it with the original disrupted flight, the easyJet booking reference, accurate passenger details and a defensible amount. Expenses for meals, accommodation or transport use a different form and should not replace the fixed-payment submission.

Check your case in the form
Enter your route, date and type of disruption. We will check whether your case qualifies for a claim under EU 261/2004 or UK261.
What happened to your flight?
Claim up to €600 for a delayed or cancelled flight.
Choose the situation that applies to your flight:
The portal states that all required fields must be completed accurately and that missing or incorrect information may prevent acceptance or processing. Prepare the answers before starting so session timeouts or inconsistent names do not create duplicate cases.
Before opening the portal
Create a small claim sheet containing:
| Field group | Information to prepare |
|---|---|
| Booking | easyJet reference, original purchaser and contact email |
| Flight | date, departure, destination, flight number and operating airline |
| Disruption | delay, cancellation or involuntary denied boarding |
| Timing | scheduled and actual arrival, or cancellation notice date |
| Passengers | exact ticket names and individual eligibility |
| Payment | requested currency, account holder and bank details where requested |
| Evidence | booking, boarding proof, messages and decision-relevant records |
easyJet says its booking references start with E or K. An OTA order number is not necessarily the airline reference. Ask the intermediary for the easyJet PNR and preserve the original itinerary if the reference does not appear in your account.
Enter the original disrupted flight
Use the flight that was delayed, cancelled or refused, not only the replacement service. For cancellation, retain both itineraries so the form identifies the event while your evidence shows rerouting. For a diversion, give the booked destination and explain the alternative landing and onward transfer.
Check the operating airline. easyJet's terms associate EZY with easyJet UK Limited, EJU with easyJet Europe Airline GmbH and EZS with easyJet Switzerland S.A. The displayed operator should be copied from the confirmation or current Flight Tracker rather than reconstructed from memory.
If the flight number changed during disruption, attach the first confirmation and final replacement. A compensation form naming only the substitute can produce a “flight operated” response that misses the cancellation.
Choose the correct event
Select delay when the original flight operated and reached the destination late. State the door-opening arrival time, not merely touchdown. Select cancellation when the planned flight was not performed as scheduled and you were transferred or refunded. Select denied boarding only when easyJet refused carriage despite compliance; missing a gate deadline or lacking a required document is not the same event.
A departure moved forward substantially may legally count as cancellation even if easyJet describes it as a schedule change. In that situation, explain the original and revised times and attach both notices. The schedule-change guide covers the Court of Justice rule for departures advanced by more than one hour.
Add every passenger accurately
Compensation is per eligible passenger. Match accents, hyphens and ordering to the booking. Do not assume the lead passenger is the only claimant. For children, provide the paid reservation information; age does not generally remove the right when the child travelled on a fare available to the public.
An adult acting for another adult should retain written authority and identity information if requested. For a minor, the parent or guardian should keep evidence of the relationship. A free infant without a separate fare can require different analysis, so do not invent a ticket price or entitlement.
If easyJet pays for some passengers but omits others, compare the names entered with the acknowledgement. Respond within the same case where possible and identify each unpaid individual.
State the timing evidence
For delay, include scheduled arrival, actual door-opening arrival and total lateness. If the case is near three hours, identify your sources and attach screenshots. The easyJet three-hour guide explains why landing time is not normally decisive.
For cancellation, state when the notice reached you. Preserve the original email metadata and app notification. If a travel agent relayed the message late, give both the airline-sending date and passenger-receipt date without hiding the discrepancy.
For denied boarding, record check-in completion, baggage drop, gate presentation and written refusal. The form should say whether you volunteered. Never select voluntary surrender merely because staff first asked for volunteers if easyJet ultimately chose you against your will.
Calculate the amount before submitting
Do not ask easyJet to “pay whatever applies” when the amount can be identified. Use great-circle distance between airports and the relevant law. EC261 bands are EUR 250, EUR 400 and EUR 600; UK261 bands are GBP 220, GBP 350 and GBP 520. Intra-EU travel above 1,500 km remains EUR 400 rather than EUR 600.
Replacement timing can support a 50% reduction in defined cases. A long UK261 delay between three and four hours generally yields GBP 260 rather than GBP 520. Cancellation safe harbours can remove payment depending on notice and substitute times. Use the easyJet calculator guide before writing the requested total.
Explain the cause without guessing
Report the reason easyJet communicated, with its exact wording and time. If no reason was given, say so and request a reasoned decision. The airline, not the passenger, controls maintenance, rotation and ATC records and bears the burden of proving extraordinary circumstances.
Avoid declaring that weather was fine because the sky looked clear. Conditions at the destination, alternate, cruising level or previous rotation may be relevant. Equally, do not accept “operational reasons” as a legal explanation. A valid response should identify the event, direct effect and reasonable mitigation.
Attach evidence selectively
Useful attachments include the booking confirmation, boarding pass, cancellation message, rerouting confirmation, denied-boarding statement and a concise arrival-time record. Label files clearly, for example booking-original.pdf or cancellation-email-2026-08-10.pdf.
Do not upload a large collection of unrelated holiday photographs. The reviewer should be able to connect each attachment to an eligibility fact. Keep originals and a copy of everything submitted.
Itemised hotel, meal and transport receipts belong in the expense claim. Mention the separate expense case number if useful, but do not let an expense total replace the fixed compensation amount.
Save proof of submission
Record the submission date, screenshot the confirmation page and save the case reference. If no acknowledgement arrives, check spam and retain browser evidence before filing again. Multiple claims for the same passenger can fragment the decision history.
When easyJet asks for more information, answer under the existing reference and preserve the request. Do not send bank details by an unverified channel. Check that the domain and case number match the official submission.
If easyJet refuses, compare its reason with the data you entered. A mistake in flight date, operator or notice timing can be corrected; an extraordinary-circumstances assertion calls for evidence. The easyJet refusal guide explains escalation to AviationADR for eligible UK cases and alternatives elsewhere.
The EU's adopted nine-month request and 30-day response rules are not yet applicable on 10 August 2026. Current national limitation and complaint procedures remain relevant, so submit promptly without quoting the future periods as present law.
FAQ
Where is the official easyJet compensation form?
It is on easyJet's own EC261 claims portal at easyjet.com/en/claim/EU261. Start from the airline's help pages when checking the address and avoid sending payment or identity data to an imitation site.
Which booking number should I enter after booking through an agent?
Use the easyJet booking reference, which the airline says starts with E or K, rather than only the agent's order number. Request the carrier reference from the intermediary if necessary.
Do I enter the cancelled flight or the replacement?
Enter the original disrupted flight as the claim event. Attach replacement details because their timing can affect compensation and proves what rerouting occurred.
Can I add meal and hotel receipts to the same easyJet form?
easyJet uses a separate expense process. Keep the fixed-payment claim and care reimbursement distinct, even if you cross-reference their case numbers.
What should I do if the form rejects my details?
Compare names, date, flight number and easyJet PNR with the original confirmation. Preserve the error message and contact easyJet through its official support route instead of altering facts merely to pass validation.
