Aeromexico compensation claim form and evidence

Published: 10 September 2026

A successful Aeromexico claim form should read like a compact case file: identify the journey, establish the legal route, state what happened, calculate each remedy separately and attach proof for every disputed fact. Aeromexico separates post-travel customer contact from changes and refunds, so a message that merely asks for “my money back” can leave the requested outcome unclear.

Check your case in the form

Enter your route, date and type of disruption. We will check whether your case qualifies for a claim under EU 261/2004 or UK261.

Step 1 of 813% completed

What happened to your flight?

Claim up to €600 for a delayed or cancelled flight.

Choose the situation that applies to your flight:

Before filing, remember that Aeromexico is a Mexican carrier. Its EU departures can be tested under EU261 and its British departures under UK261. Its own Mexico-origin flights do not normally gain either protection by arriving in Europe. This guide states the position at 9 September 2026; the July 2026 EU reform has deferred application, including its future nine-month claim period.

Gather the record before opening the form

Download the original e-ticket, booking confirmation and itinerary before the app replaces them. Save every passenger's ticket number and boarding pass, the disruption notice, replacement itinerary and proof of actual final arrival. For codeshares, retain the “operated by” line. For cancellations, record when notice arrived; for delays, record door-opening time where possible.

Collect itemised receipts for necessary meals, accommodation and transfers. A card statement can support payment but rarely explains the purchase as well as a receipt. Baggage complaints need the PIR, bag tag, photographs, inventory and their own written timing evidence.

Use this numbered claim procedure

  1. Map the direction and operator. Write the first airport, final destination on that contract and airline physically due to operate each disputed sector.
  2. Choose the correct Aeromexico channel. Use customer contact for a completed disruption complaint and the changes-and-refunds route for the relevant booking request.
  3. Write a six-line chronology. Include scheduled departure and arrival, notice, gate event, rerouting and actual final arrival, always with local dates and zones.
  4. Separate the requested remedies. Calculate fixed compensation per eligible passenger, care at actual reasonable cost, and refund only for unused carriage.
  5. Number the evidence. Give each attachment a filename and one-line purpose, such as “A4—replacement boarding pass showing reroute.”
  6. Submit and preserve proof. Save the full text, uploaded files, date and reference number; never send banking data outside the secure field.
  7. Analyse the response. Identify whether Aeromexico disputes territory, operator, time, notice, cause, amount or evidence before replying or escalating.

State the legal and factual basis plainly

The opening paragraph should say, for example: “This claim concerns the AM-operated Madrid–Mexico City flight on 18 August 2026, departing the EU, and final arrival six hours late.” That is more useful than a long account of the holiday. If a connection was on one ticket, explain why the last destination is relevant; if it was a self-transfer, do not hide that fact.

Ask Aeromexico to identify any asserted extraordinary circumstance, its link to this rotation and the reasonable measures considered. Avoid asserting that every technical or crew issue automatically guarantees payment; the evidence and legal characterisation matter.

Keep four financial columns

Fixed compensation is a statutory amount per passenger where coverage and disruption conditions align. Reimbursement concerns unused fare, while rerouting provides replacement transport. Care concerns reasonable meals, hotel and transfers during the wait. A family of four may have four fixed awards but only one shared hotel invoice.

Package rights against an organiser and Montreal Convention baggage damages belong in distinct sections or claims. Explain each actual loss and subtract vouchers or reimbursements already received. Clear arithmetic reduces the risk that one weak or duplicated item obscures a strong statutory demand.

Worked submission from Paris to Mérida

Olivia travels Paris–Mexico City–Mérida on one Aeromexico ticket. A cancellation in Paris leads to next-day rerouting and arrival in Mérida 16 hours late. She saves the original confirmation, new boarding passes, cancellation email, hotel refusal message and EUR 62 of itemised meals. Her suitcase also arrives two days later.

Her flight claim leads with the EU departure, AM operator, through ticket, notice and final arrival. It lists the possible long-haul fixed amount separately from EUR 62 care costs. The delayed bag is not called another EU261 award: Olivia uses the PIR, essential-purchase receipts and a timely Montreal written demand. If the trip was a package, she contacts the organiser separately about lost accommodation value.

Respond to a rejection rather than restarting.

If Aeromexico says the flight was outside EU261, answer with the departure airport and operator evidence. If it disputes arrival time, provide the chronology. If it cites weather, ask for the event, operational link and reasonable measures. If the operator was a partner, redirect the statutory issue as the evidence requires.

Escalation follows the covered departure. A British file may engage the UK framework; an EU departure points to the competent national system. Mexican consumer routes such as PROFECO concern a different territorial case. Keep the original claim and acknowledgement so the record remains continuous.

Frequently asked questions

Which Aeromexico form should I use?

Use post-travel customer contact for a completed disruption claim and the changes-and-refunds route for the relevant booking action. State the remedy explicitly.

Should every passenger file separately?

Not necessarily, but identify each passenger and ticket, show authority to act where needed and calculate individual awards separately.

What evidence proves actual arrival?

Replacement boarding passes, timestamped messages and reliable airport records can help; door-opening time is preferable to touchdown for the arrival test.

Can baggage costs go in the same total?

They should be clearly separated because Montreal proof and deadlines differ from EU261 fixed compensation and care.

Must I submit within nine months?

The future EU rule is not current law. As at 9 September 2026, the July 2026 reform has deferred application; applicable limitation depends on the existing forum.
