Qatar Airways compensation claim form: contact and evidence guide
Submit a Qatar Airways EU261 or UK261 claim through the airline’s Feedback & Concerns path when Qatar Airways actually operated the protected flight. Use the separate refund/voucher and baggage tools for those remedies. A strong submission identifies the legal regime, covered departure, final ticketed destination, exact arrival or cancellation timing, amount per passenger and supporting evidence.

Check your case in the form
Enter your route, date and type of disruption. We will check whether your case qualifies for a claim under EU 261/2004 or UK261.
What happened to your flight?
Claim up to €600 for a delayed or cancelled flight.
Choose the situation that applies to your flight:
Qatar Airways’ help centre does not present one universal button labelled “EU261 cash claim” in every market. The route through Feedback & Concerns is therefore more reliable than sending an unstructured message to a sales office.
Choose the correct Qatar Airways channel
| Problem | Current Qatar Airways route |
|---|---|
| EU261 or UK261 compensation | Feedback & Concerns |
| Unused-ticket refund or travel voucher | Refund & Voucher tool |
| Refund already requested | Track a refund |
| Delayed, lost or damaged baggage | Missing baggage / mishandled baggage tool |
| Ticket bought through an agency | Agent often services fare refund; operator still receives statutory claim |
Combining every issue in one paragraph can send the case to the wrong team. Separate fixed compensation, refund, expenses and baggage even if they arise from the same trip.
Step 1: Confirm Qatar Airways was the operating carrier
Read every segment on the e-ticket and boarding pass. A QR number can be operated by British Airways, Iberia, Finnair, American Airlines, Virgin Australia or another partner. EU261 and UK261 claims normally follow the airline that supplied the aircraft and crew.
If a partner operated, use that partner’s claim process. Qatar Airways may still service a ticket it issued, but ticket handling does not make it responsible for another airline’s operation.
Save a screenshot of the “operated by” field before online booking details change.
Step 2: Establish route coverage
Qatar Airways is not an EU or UK carrier. Its operated departures from the EU, EEA, Switzerland and UK can be covered. Its operated journeys beginning in Doha, India, Asia, Africa or Australia normally do not gain fixed European compensation by arriving in Europe.
Write one opening sentence that settles direction:
The Qatar Airways-operated journey began in Paris and continued to Bangkok on one reservation, so Regulation 261/2004 applies from the covered EU departure.
For a UK case, identify UK261 and the UK airport. If the journey is inbound and excluded, do not mislabel a contractual or Montreal claim as EU261.
Step 3: Reconstruct final arrival or cancellation notice
For delay, compare scheduled arrival with the moment a door opened at the final ticketed destination. Include missed connections and replacement flights on one reservation. Do not measure only the late arrival in Doha if the ticket continued elsewhere.
For cancellation, provide the timestamp of the first notice and the timings of every alternative. The fourteen-day boundary and replacement windows are central. For denied boarding, record check-in time, valid documents, gate presentation and whether the passenger volunteered.
Use a small chronology rather than an approximate narrative.
Step 4: Choose Feedback & Concerns
Open Qatar Airways’ Help page, select Feedback & Concerns and provide the booking reference and surname where requested. Choose the concern category closest to the completed journey and disruption. Interfaces can vary by market and login state, so save the final confirmation rather than relying on a remembered menu label.
Do not use a social-media message as the only filing channel. It may be useful for immediate travel help, but it often lacks a durable case reference and attachment record.
If the page cannot retrieve the booking, Qatar Airways currently allows feedback to continue with personal details. Include the ticket and booking identifiers manually.
Step 5: Gather booking identifiers
Prepare:
- six-character booking reference;
- passenger names exactly as ticketed;
- ticket numbers, commonly beginning 157 for Qatar Airways-issued documents;
- flight dates, route and QR marketing numbers;
- actual operating airline for each segment;
- original and replacement boarding passes;
- contact email used in the booking;
- payment details only where a refund route genuinely requires them.
For a family or group, list each eligible person and amount. Do not send passport or bank information beyond what the secure form reasonably requests.
Step 6: Separate compensation, refund and expenses
Use labelled sections:
- Fixed compensation: legal regime, distance band, delay/notice and amount per passenger.
- Care expenses: itemised meals, hotel and local transport with receipts.
- Ticket remedy: reimbursement, earliest rerouting or later rebooking chosen.
- Proven additional damage: Montreal Convention loss, if applicable and not duplicated.
For long travel, state whether the three-to-four-hour 50% reduction applies. A five-hour final delay on Paris-Doha-Bangkok can support EUR 600; a 3:30 delay may support EUR 300.
Do not call every amount “compensation”. A refund returns the fare; care reimburses reasonable expenditure; baggage has another framework.
Step 7: Submit and preserve the record
Upload legible PDFs or images with descriptive filenames. Keep the total file size manageable. Attach the original ticket first, then disruption evidence, replacement itinerary and numbered receipts.
Before submitting, save the text in a local document. After submission, capture the confirmation screen, reference number, timestamp and attachment list. Retain any automatic email. These records prove that the claim was made and what it contained.
If the form fails, record the error and try another supported browser or market-neutral Help page. Avoid creating several conflicting cases on the same day.
Step 8: Follow up without resetting the claim
Reply within the existing case where possible. Quote the reference in every contact and ask a focused question: status, missing evidence, exact cause or payment date. Repeated fresh submissions can fragment the record.
If Qatar Airways rejects or does not resolve the claim, move to the appropriate national enforcement body for an EU departure, the UK CAA route for a UK departure, an available dispute process or court. A regulator complaint may not itself order individual payment, so preserve limitation time.
The escalation guide explains forum choice.
Suggested claim structure

Request: EUR 600 for each of the two named passengers, plus EUR 84.20 reasonable care expenses listed in the attached schedule.
Evidence: Original e-ticket, boarding passes, reissue, notification, arrival evidence and numbered receipts.
Precise facts let the case handler verify the request without reconstructing the whole journey.
Frequent filing mistakes
- claiming against Qatar Airways because of a QR code when a partner operated;
- requesting EU261 for a Qatar-operated journey that started in Doha;
- measuring delay at Doha instead of the final city on one ticket;
- quoting EUR 600 without considering the long-distance half reduction;
- accepting a voucher and later describing it as an unwanted cash refund;
- uploading a card statement without itemised receipts;
- omitting one passenger from a family total;
- waiting for a regulator reply while a court deadline approaches.
Review a refusal against the rejection guide rather than opening an entirely new factual case.
FAQ
Which Qatar Airways form handles EU261 compensation?
Use Feedback & Concerns for a post-travel statutory claim when Qatar Airways operated. Refund and baggage have separate tools.
Can I submit without a booking reference?
Qatar Airways’ current feedback flow can allow contact without retrieving a booking, but include ticket, flight and passenger identifiers manually.
Should I ask my travel agent for compensation?
The agent may service the fare refund. Fixed EU261 or UK261 compensation normally goes to the operating carrier.
What proof shows final arrival time?
Use door-opening evidence, replacement boarding documents, app or airport records and a clear chronology to the last ticketed destination.
Should expenses be included in the same case?
They can be included in a separate labelled section with itemised receipts, so they are not confused with the fixed statutory amount.
