Air Arabia Maroc seat, baggage or meal not provided: request a refund

When Air Arabia Maroc charges separately for a seat, baggage allowance, meal, priority service or another extra and does not provide it, request repayment of that specific service with the purchase receipt and proof of non-provision. This is usually a contract refund, not automatic EC261 compensation. A qualifying delay, cancellation or denied boarding can create a separate statutory claim, but the same event does not turn every optional service into a fixed payment.

Enter your route, date and type of disruption. We will check whether your case qualifies for a claim under EU 261/2004 or UK261.

What happened to your flight?

Claim up to €600 for a delayed or cancelled flight.

Choose the situation that applies to your flight:

Air Arabia's Conditions of Carriage define Extra Options to include seat selection, food, insurance and baggage transport. Identify the actual seller because an OTA or third-party provider may have collected the charge.

Do not combine every line into one estimate. State the item, sector, passenger, currency and paid amount.

Paid seat changed at the airport

Air Arabia's current seat-allocation page says preselected seats are guaranteed unless flight-safety measures require otherwise. Aircraft substitution, operational seating, a broken seat, accessibility needs or exit-row restrictions can still cause a change. Record the reason rather than assuming every move was arbitrary.

Keep the original seat confirmation and boarding pass showing the seat actually used. Photograph the seat number if the pass was not updated. Ask cabin or gate staff to note the reassignment where practical.

Request the selection fee, not the entire airfare, when the passenger travelled in the same single-cabin product but lost the chosen location. Air Arabia Maroc does not offer a verified multi-cabin product that would justify inventing a Business-to-Economy downgrade claim. A front-row or extra-legroom seat issue remains a paid-service question unless another specific right applies.

Safety can justify moving a passenger, especially from an exit row. It does not automatically establish that the airline may keep payment for a distinct selection it could not provide. Ask for the contractual refund rule and an itemised answer.

Baggage allowance not recognised

Save the fare bundle or separately purchased allowance showing weight, pieces, passenger and sector. At bag drop, present it before paying again. If staff still charge, request a receipt naming excess baggage rather than accepting an unitemised card slip.

A duplicate charge can support repayment when the original allowance covered the bag and its dimensions. Compare the purchased limit with actual weight, number of pieces and route rules. Air Arabia's public excess-baggage page has separate 3O rates for Morocco operations, so a table for another Air Arabia company should not be applied.

If the bag was accepted and later delayed, lost or damaged, the original baggage fee is not the measure of Montreal damages. The delayed and lost baggage guide addresses proven contents and expenses. Ask separately whether the transport charge itself should be returned under the contract.

An allowance belonging to a passenger who does not travel cannot automatically be transferred to another person on the booking under the current carriage terms. Obtain approval before redistributing weight.

Meal or onboard product unavailable

Keep the preorder confirmation showing meal, passenger and flight. Tell cabin crew when it is missing and ask whether a substitute is offered. Record whether the substitute was accepted and whether it had comparable value or met an allergy or dietary requirement.

If no paid meal was supplied, request its price. A passenger who voluntarily accepts a comparable replacement may have suffered less loss than one who receives nothing, but acceptance does not necessarily erase a price difference. Explain the outcome accurately.

Reasonable food purchased during a long covered delay is different. It can fall under the duty of care even when no onboard meal was bought. Use the hotel and meal expense guide and avoid claiming one purchase twice.

Priority and airport services

Priority check-in, boarding or other airport products can depend on availability at selected airports and on the fare purchased. Save the description shown at checkout. A generic advertisement is weaker than the confirmation for the actual route.

Record what happened: no priority lane, lane closed, passenger directed to the standard queue, or service delivered but slower than expected. A busy priority line is not automatically non-provision. The claim should identify the promised feature that was absent.

Accessibility assistance is not merely a commercial priority product. Mandatory assistance rights and medical or safety procedures should not be reduced to a refund of an optional fee. Use the airport and airline complaint routes appropriate to the service.

Extras after cancellation or rerouting

When Air Arabia cancels a flight and the passenger chooses reimbursement, unused paid extras attached to that sector should be listed in the settlement. Air Arabia's Conditions of Carriage include Extra Options in its refund provisions subject to the applicable terms. Ask for each line rather than assuming the base-fare refund includes it.

For rerouting, ask whether seats, bags and meals transfer to the replacement service. A different operator may not recognise the original extra automatically. If a new payment is required, preserve both receipts and the airline's instruction.

Fixed compensation remains separate. An EU departure operated by 3O can potentially receive EC261 for a qualifying disruption, while a direct Morocco-origin return normally does not. The refund of an undelivered EUR 20 seat does not depend on a three-hour arrival delay, and it is not reduced because the disruption was extraordinary.

OTA, AirRewards and payer questions

An OTA may sell its own seat or baggage product, collect Air Arabia's official extra, or bundle a service guarantee. Identify the merchant and supplier on the invoice. Send the contract refund to the seller responsible for the item while directing statutory flight compensation to the operating carrier.

AirRewards points can be used for eligible extras under current programme rules. If the service was not provided, document the points debit and request restoration separately from any cash or tax amount. Do not assign a made-up cash value to points when the programme can show the actual transaction.

Refunds may return to the person who paid rather than the traveller. Provide payment proof and account identity without sending sensitive card data through an unverified channel.

Submit an itemised request

Create one row per service: passenger, flight, date, item, confirmation number, price, promised feature, actual outcome and requested amount. Attach the itinerary, boarding pass, invoice, airport receipt, photos and staff message.

Use Air Arabia's feedback or post-travel contact route for non-EC261 extras and its dedicated statutory form for a separate covered flight claim. Save the reference. If the answer discusses only the flight fare, ask for a decision on each named extra.

Rules and product pages were checked on 26 August 2026. Availability, fare inclusions and airport services change, so the transaction confirmation is the primary product record.

FAQ

Can I get a refund when Air Arabia changes my paid seat?

Potentially, if the selected service was not supplied. Keep the seat receipt and actual boarding pass, and request the specific selection charge.

Is a seat change the same as a cabin downgrade?

No. Air Arabia Maroc's verified product is single-cabin. Losing a chosen row or seat is generally an optional-service issue, not a premium-cabin downgrade.

What if I paid for baggage again at the airport?

Keep both receipts and prove that the original allowance covered that passenger, sector, weight and number of pieces. Request the unjustified duplicate charge.

Can I claim both an extra refund and EC261 compensation?

Yes, potentially. They address different losses. The flight must independently satisfy territorial, timing and cause requirements for fixed compensation.

Who refunds an extra bought through an OTA?

Identify whether the agent sold its own product or collected Air Arabia's charge. The responsible seller should answer the itemised service claim.
