Air Arabia Maroc booked through an OTA, agent or Air Arabia Holidays

Booking Air Arabia Maroc through an online travel agency, travel agent or Air Arabia Holidays does not normally remove passenger rights, but it can divide the work among different companies. The operating carrier handles an EC261 or UK261 fixed-compensation claim. The ticket issuer or payment recipient may process a refund. A qualifying package organiser can have additional duties for the package as a whole.

What happened to your flight?

Choose the situation that applies to your flight:

Start by collecting the airline PNR, agency reference, e-ticket receipt, payment record and the line naming the operating carrier. Air Arabia Maroc uses code 3O; Royal Air Maroc uses AT, and the wider Air Arabia brand includes separate airlines. The operator guide prevents a claim from going to the wrong company.

One company may perform more than one role, but branding is not enough. Read the legal names on the documents.

Fixed compensation goes to the operating carrier

For EC261 and UK261, the operating air carrier is central. An OTA did not operate the aircraft merely because it sold the ticket or sent disruption emails. Direct the fixed EUR 250 or EUR 400 request to Air Arabia Maroc when 3O actually performed or intended to perform the covered service.

Territorial coverage still matters. A 3O departure from the EU can fall within EC261 and one from the UK within UK261. A direct return from Morocco normally falls outside those regimes because Air Arabia Maroc is not an EU or UK carrier. The agent's country, website language and payment currency do not extend coverage.

Provide the airline PNR, not only the OTA's reference. If the confirmation shows another airline as operator, use the Air Arabia Maroc versus Royal Air Maroc guide or identify the actual company before submitting.

Who processes the ticket refund

After a covered airline cancellation, the passenger can choose reimbursement or rerouting. The statutory right should not disappear because an intermediary issued the ticket, but the payment may need to travel through the merchant or ticketing system that collected it.

Check the card statement and invoice. Ask Air Arabia whether the ticket is marked refundable and whether funds were returned to the issuer. Ask the agent for a dated status and itemised deductions. Send both companies the same core record, but do not open contradictory requests for cash and rerouting.

An agent's service fee is different from the airline fare. Whether it is refundable depends on the agent contract and applicable consumer law. Require a breakdown rather than accepting one net number. The refund, credit and rerouting guide helps preserve the passenger's choice.

OTA contact details and disruption notices

An intermediary may place its own email address or telephone number in the airline record. This can delay notice reaching the passenger. Keep the original booking confirmation, the first message from each company and account screenshots showing contact details.

For cancellation compensation, the date and content of notice matter. Do not assume that a public schedule change or an email sent only to an agent proves when the traveller was informed. Ask Air Arabia when and where it sent the notice, then ask the OTA when it forwarded it.

Update passenger contact details directly where the booking permits, but do not let an agent replace the airline PNR with a proprietary number. At the airport, show both.

Air Arabia Holidays and package protection

Air Arabia's carriage terms define a Holiday as a flight and accommodation sold together at an inclusive price, but the applicable holiday terms at purchase still control the additional service. A flight plus hotel appearing on one page is useful evidence, yet the legal package status depends on how services were combined, sold and paid for under the law governing the contract.

For packages protected by EU Directive 2015/2302 or the UK Package Travel Regulations, the organiser can be responsible for proper performance of the included travel services and for assistance. This is separate from a fixed passenger-rights claim against the operating airline. The passenger may pursue the correct remedy against each responsible party but cannot recover the same loss twice.

Preserve the package certificate, organiser's legal name, inclusive invoice, hotel voucher and all changes. Do not rely on an old Air Arabia Holidays agent manual for current cancellation charges; request the terms supplied with the actual booking.

Voluntary changes through an agent

When the passenger changes plans, the live Basic, Value or Ultimate fare rule applies alongside the agent's process and fee. Some bookings can be modified only through the issuing agency. Ask for Air Arabia's charge, fare difference and the agent's fee as separate lines.

Do not cancel through an OTA dashboard if the airline has already cancelled or substantially moved the service. Save the carrier notice and classify the event first. An interface labelled cancel may create a voluntary transaction even when statutory reimbursement or rerouting should be requested.

For one passenger on a shared PNR, verify whether the agent can split the booking. A broad online action may affect every traveller and sector.

Chargeback is a final payment remedy

A card dispute can be relevant when a paid service was not supplied and the responsible merchant fails to refund after a documented request. It is not a shortcut for deciding complex passenger rights, and time limits depend on the card scheme and issuer.

Contact the airline or seller first, provide a reasonable chance to resolve the matter and keep the response. Describe the exact service and amount in any card claim. Do not dispute the entire package if only one component remains unpaid, and disclose any credit or partial refund.

Chargeback does not replace an EC261 fixed-compensation process. It addresses a card transaction, not automatically statutory damages.

One coordinated evidence file

Create a table naming seller, merchant on statement, ticket issuer, operating carrier, package organiser and each reference. Add the original itinerary, ticket numbers, fare terms, cancellation notice, replacement offers, payment and correspondence.

Write separate requests: operating-carrier compensation, ticket reimbursement, package remedy and documented expenses. State which amount has already been returned. Escalate only the unresolved part and use the authority linked to the departure state where EC261 enforcement is involved.

Rules and public airline pages were checked on 26 August 2026. Intermediary and package terms change, so use the documents delivered at purchase for the individual contract.

FAQ

Can I claim EC261 directly from Air Arabia Maroc after booking through an OTA?

Yes, when 3O was the operating carrier and the flight falls within EC261. The seller does not replace the operator for fixed compensation.

Who sends back the ticket price after cancellation?

The airline or seller controlling the ticket and payment may process it. Use the card charge, invoice and ticket status to identify the route of funds.

Does an Air Arabia flight plus hotel always count as a package?

Not automatically. The way services were combined, sold and paid for, the organiser identity and governing law determine package status.

Can an OTA keep its own service fee?

That depends on the agent contract and applicable law. Ask for a breakdown separating the airline fare, taxes, airline charges and intermediary fee.

Should I start a chargeback immediately?

Usually no. First make a documented request to the responsible merchant. Use a card dispute for a precise unresolved payment issue, not as a substitute for every airline claim.
