Air Arabia Maroc is a Moroccan carrier using code 3O. EC261 can cover its departure from the EU, EEA or Switzerland, and UK261 can cover its UK departure. A direct 3O return from Morocco normally falls outside those regimes. Contractual rerouting may still exist, but the legal basis should be identified rather than assumed.

Give the airline a practical chance to reroute
At the airport, ask Air Arabia or its handling agent for transport to the final ticketed destination at the earliest reasonable opportunity. Use chat, call centre or the contact route if the desk is closed. Record times, screenshots and any queue number. A single unanswered call may be insufficient when several accessible channels existed, but endless attempts are not required during an urgent disruption.
Ask for the proposal in writing. Compare final arrival rather than just departure. Note connections, overnight waits, airport changes, baggage terms, accessibility and whether ground transport is included. A replacement that reaches the destination safely several hours later may be reasonable even if it is not the passenger's preferred airline.
If Air Arabia explicitly refuses to reroute, says only a refund is possible or offers travel so late that the trip is undermined, retain the wording. Do not click voluntary cancellation merely to close the booking, because that can obscure the disruption record.
Compare available alternatives before buying
Capture at least two or three realistic options where time permits. Screenshots should show search time, date, route, operator, cabin or travel class, connections and total price. Include direct airline pages when possible; an uncompleted search result can disappear or change.
Choose comparable transport conditions, not an automatic upgrade. Economy airfare, standard rail or a safe coach is usually easier to defend than business class or private transport. A higher category can still be reasonable if it was the only timely or accessible option, but preserve proof of scarcity and explain the need.
Consider the entire journey cost. A flight to a distant airport may look cheaper but require an expensive taxi. A train may avoid an overnight hotel. The reasonable option is assessed in the real incident, not with prices found days later.
For a family, compare the total cost and practical availability of seats together. If splitting the party was necessary, document why. Keep separate passenger names and ticket numbers so repayment is not rejected because one receipt covers several travellers.
Flight, train, coach or ground transfer
Current EC261 refers to rerouting under comparable transport conditions, and Air Arabia's carriage terms contemplate another flight or mutually agreed means. Depending on the route, rail or coach can be a rational substitute. Ask the carrier to approve it when possible, but a documented failure to respond should not force a passenger to wait indefinitely.
Ground transfers may also be part of the solution after a diversion or arrival at an alternative airport. Distinguish transport required to reach the booked destination from a taxi chosen merely for convenience. Preserve the diversion notice and the airline's transfer instructions.
If the replacement operator charges for ordinary baggage needed for the trip, record that unavoidable cost. Optional seats, lounge access and premium extras require a stronger explanation. Claim each component once and disclose insurer or package-organiser reimbursements.
Refund choice and double recovery
A full ticket reimbursement normally ends the duty to carry the passenger on the same cancelled journey. Demanding both that refund and the complete replacement price can duplicate the transport remedy. Before accepting money back, decide whether abandoning or completing the trip matters more.
If an automated refund arrived without informed choice, state that and preserve the communication. The legal analysis can differ from a passenger who deliberately selected reimbursement after being offered alternatives. Do not spend an account credit while asserting that it was imposed without consent unless the consequences have been assessed.
Fixed compensation remains separate. A passenger can potentially recover reasonable rerouting costs and EUR 250 or EUR 400 if the flight direction, notice or final delay, and cause satisfy the distinct tests. Meals and hotel costs are also separate from the replacement fare.
Separate tickets and package travel
Air Arabia mainly sells point-to-point travel. A later flight on another reservation is not automatically the final destination of the first ticket. If a delayed 3O flight causes a missed separately booked journey, EC261 rerouting usually addresses the destination on the disrupted contract, not every independent ticket the passenger assembled.

Submit a focused cost claim
Build a timeline with scheduled journey, disruption notice, first request, every airline offer, alternative searches, purchase and final arrival. Attach the original booking, operated-by line, replacement ticket, boarding proof and itemised payment receipt. A card statement alone does not prove route or passenger.
Explain in a few sentences why the purchased option was necessary, proportionate and earlier than the proposal. List transport, care and fixed compensation separately. If only part of the replacement price is disputed, identify that amount rather than making an all-or-nothing demand.

Can I buy another airline's flight after Air Arabia Maroc cancels?
Potentially, when covered rerouting was due and Air Arabia did not provide a reasonable option. Contact attempts, comparable alternatives and a proportionate price are essential.
Will Air Arabia repay a train ticket instead of a flight?
It can be arguable where rail was a reasonable means of reaching the ticketed destination after rerouting failed. Ask for agreement where possible and preserve the comparison.
Can I claim a replacement ticket after taking a full refund?
